In response to the continued spread of COVID-19 into Australia, RVTS has contingency plans in place for the continuity of the training program and operations. Based on the newest information at hand, RVTS will take measures to protect the health of our registrars, supervisors, staff and the wider community.
In providing ongoing support RVTS will be guided by the information provided by the Australian Government Department of Health and World Health Organisation (WHO), and in terms of college training policy, by ACRRM and the RACGP.
All RVTS registrars, supervisors and PEP participants are encouraged to keep abreast of information relating not only to management of cases of COVID-19 but also prevention of spread of the virus, and your own self-care.

RVTS Registrars & Supervisors
Registrars should also consider the information available via the college websites.
ACRRM website: offers Coronavirus updates for Rural Generalists
RACGP website: provides access to a variety of resources related to COVID-19 in addition to training information for RVTS PEP participants.
The National COVID-19 Clinical Evidence Taskforce has launched new 'living guidelines' that provide the latest, evidence-based recommendations to clinicians caring for patients with COVID-19.
Impact on Registrar Training
There has been minimal impact on RVTS training activities given the RVTS remote training and supervision model. RVTS has contingencies in place to minimise any disruption to normal training activities and schedules. Registrar training activities delivered remotely, such as weekly webinars, RVTS online modules, and training reviews continue unimpeded. Face-to-face training activities have been modified.
Registrars and supervisors will receive direct communication and updates on any changes to the program.
