Xanthus Weber

How long you have worked with RVTS?

2.5 years.

Tell us about your childhood – where were you raised?

I grew up in various places throughout country Victoria. I was born in Portland before moving to Wodonga for kindergarten, only to move to a tiny town called Landsborough for primary school (30 kids in the whole school!) We then moved to the town of Hamilton for my high school years.

What field did you train in once you left high school?

After high school I moved to Ballarat to complete my Psychology degree. I then completed my Masters in Business Administration at RMIT in Melbourne.

Where did your career path take you before you joined RVTS?

I was running the Chartered Professional Accreditation for a professional association and developed their student engagement.

What appeals to you most about working with us?

I appreciate the fact that RVTS supports rural and remote GPs to enhance their skills, which then provides these communities with access to confident and competent GPs. I remember rolling my ankle in primary school and travelling to the nearest town for an x-ray; two weeks later we were contacted by the travelling GP to say my ankle was broken. I had spent those two weeks skipping every day for Jump Rope for Heart on a broken ankle!!

What interests do you have outside work?

I enjoy gardening, yoga, hiking and reading.

Thanks very much for letting us know a little more about you, Xanthus!
