Sharon Renton

How long you have worked with RVTS?

9 months.

What is one of your earliest memories from your childhood or youth?

We spent every Christmas camping on the Murray River at Echuca when I was growing up. Some of my earliest memories are helping to set up the camp site and learning to water ski.

Did you spend much time in rural Australia – and if so, where and in what capacity?

I lived on a cattle station in Calliope just outside of Gladstone, Queensland, for a few years before my eldest son was born. I loved the tranquillity of living in a wide-open space and being part of a tight knit community.

Where did your career path take you before you joined RVTS?

I’ve worked in event management for the last 10 years and have had the opportunity to co-ordinate major events at venues like Gladstone Events Centre and Caulfield, Sandown and Mornington Racecourses.

What does your role at RVTS involve?

I co-ordinate the planning and delivery of RVTS workshops and events. I enjoy being able to use my avid planning, project management and problem-solving skills every day.

What appeals to you most about working with us?

Contributing to a larger purpose and working in an organisation that values and actively seeks input and acknowledges achievements.

Thanks very much for letting us know a little more about you, Sharon!
